Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is a specialized healthcare service that focuses on restoring movement, improving function, reducing pain, and preventing injury. Licensed physical therapists use exercise, manual techniques, and other therapeutic interventions to help patients recover and reach their health goals.

2. Do I need a referral from a doctor to see a physical therapist?

In many states, you can see a physical therapist without a referral through what’s known as direct access. However, some insurance plans may still require a referral for reimbursement. Contact our office or your insurance provider for details specific to your plan.

3. What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide variety of conditions, including:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Joint injuries (shoulder, hip, knee, ankle)
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Sports and overuse injuries
  • Arthritis and chronic pain
  • Balance and fall prevention
  • Neurological rehabilitation (stroke, Parkinson’s, MS)
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Work-related and motor vehicle accident injuries

4. Do you offer cash-based physical therapy services?

Yes. We offer cash-based physical therapy for patients who prefer not to use insurance or whose plans do not cover PT. This model allows for transparent pricing, longer one-on-one sessions, and greater flexibility in your care. You do not need a referral to access our cash-pay services.

5. Do you offer telehealth physical therapy?

Yes. We provide telehealth physical therapy for patients who prefer to receive care from home. Through secure video conferencing, you can meet with your therapist, receive guided exercise plans, movement assessments, and real-time feedback. Telehealth is ideal for follow-up sessions, home exercise supervision, and managing conditions that don’t require hands-on treatment.

6. What should I expect during my first visit?

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. We’ll assess your mobility, strength, posture, and functional limitations, discuss your goals, and design a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

7. What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. Athletic wear is best. If you’re being treated for a specific area like your knee or shoulder, please wear clothing that allows access to that region.

8. How long is each session?

Sessions typically last 45 to 60 minutes. This may vary depending on your condition and treatment plan. Both in-person and telehealth appointments are scheduled to allow adequate time for evaluation, treatment, and progress updates.

9. How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition, goals, and how you respond to treatment. Some patients require just a few visits, while others benefit from a longer, structured rehabilitation plan. Your therapist will regularly reassess your progress.

10. Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance providers and can help verify your benefits before your first visit. For those without insurance or with high-deductible plans, we also offer competitive self-pay and cash-based options.

11. What makes your clinic different?

We prioritize individualized care, evidence-based treatment plans, and a patient-centered approach. Our clinic emphasizes quality over quantity, offering hands-on sessions with licensed therapists—not aides or techs. We also offer extended time slots, cash-based plans, and virtual care to accommodate your preferences and lifestyle.

12. How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule by calling our office, booking online through our website, or contacting us directly via email. We’ll work with you to find the best available time and answer any pre-visit questions you may have.
